Often thought of as the original Russian nesting doll, these simply designed matryoshka are still hand painted at the Seminov factory near Moscow. The basic yellow and red pattern was specially designed to enable the artists to reproduce these dolls as quickly as possible. Still a popular and yet inexpensive choice.
