Just stand the Sipping Bird by a glass of water the cooky looking sipping bird dips his head in and out of the water not only once, but again and again and again (well you get the idea), as if he is having a drink!
Now for the nerdy bit, the reason it works apparently is something called Thermo Dynamics which is basically the odd blue liquid in his belly expanding and contracting, but please dont get talking about thermo dynamics or you might get some odd looks! Let's face it, the effect is far more amusing than the explanation. A wonderful curiosity and a great show piece on the office desk.
